Home Systems Scotland is fully committed to safeguarding the privacy of all visitors to this site.

This privacy policy only covers www.homesystemscotland.co.uk and does not cover links within this site to other websites.

Personal information is only exchanged if you decide to contact us or register for one of our newsletters. We will only use this information in the way it was intended (i.e. to reply to any comments or to send you newsletters). We will not pass your information to third parties without your consent.

If you decide to remove yourself from the newsletters mailing list, all data we hold about you in relation to this will be deleted.

Access to information held by us (The Data Protection Act 1998).

You can ask us about any personal information we hold about you in person with proof of your identity.

Home Systems Scotland - Terms and Conditions

DEPOSITS & PAYMENT

1. A provisional booking will be accepted by Home Systems Scotland, subject to receiving a 50% deposit within 3 working days which is deductible from final invoice.
2. Where materials need to be paid for up front, you will be made aware and invoiced accordingly ie materials plus 50% of the rest of estimate will be required.
3. Receiving this deposit assumes that you consent to Home Systems Scotland ordering materials for agreed works on your behalf and will be subject to supplier policies as laid out below.
4. Upon receiving deposit, you’ll receive confirmation for the dates that you have now booked. Please note that ALL bookings are provisional until the deposit is received.
5. A completed deposit transaction indicates that you are happy to proceed and agree to the terms as stated in this document.
6. If the deposit is not received within 3 working days it is assumed that the provisional booking is no longer required.

DEPOSITS/REFUNDS:
1. In the event of cancellation by you, refunds will be offered as per below;
- Outwith 7 days of the work date - 100% deposit refund.
- Within 7 days of the workdate - 50% deposit refund.
- NO refund will be offered within 48 hours of the work date.
2. Please note that where the job is rescheduled by you and subsequently cancelled, the date the change was requested and proximity to original scheduled work date will be used to clarify deposit terms.

MATERIALS/REFUNDS:
1. Where work is cancelled by you all materials ordered on behalf of your agreed works fall within supplier refund policies and will not be refunded by Home Systems Scotland unless refunded first by the supplier.  This includes but is not limited to; refund timelines/made to order product policies etc. Where the original deposit does not cover these items, you will be liable to pay for and receive them.
2. Please note that some products may be subject to manufacturing/supplier delays out with Home Systems Scotland control and as such Home Systems Scotland are in no way liable with above terms remaining applicable.

INVOICES:
1.
The balance of completed work is due 7 days after the invoice is sent.
2. Where work is completed in stages part invoices may be issued.
3. If the balance is NOT received within this time frame Home Systems Scotland reserve the right to discontinue the work or further works until the payment is received.
4. A 10% late fee may be added at Home Systems Scotland discretion where the invoice has not been paid after 7 days. This can be added up to 3 times ie 3 consecutive 7-day periods.
5. Home Systems Scotland may also request payment sooner at their discretion before follow up work takes place ie when work is due to restart before 7 days.
6. Home Systems Scotland also reserve the right to request monies either in part or full prior to undertaking any works where they deem appropriate.
7. Technicians will arrive with required parts where possible ie when already identified via site visits however where extra materials are needed on the day the time taken to secure these will be added to your invoice.
8. Where a follow up visit is requested and the invoice is overdue, Home Systems Scotland reserve the right to decline until payment has been received. The percentage of monies required at this point is at Home Systems Scotland discretion. This can include but is not limited to, 3rd party payments in the course of your works paid out by Home Systems Scotland on your behalf. (Permits/skip hire/plasterers/materials etc).  
9. Where 2 engineers are required for practical or safety reasons (for all/part of your works), a 2Man team will be deployed.  The team will be charged at a lesser rate than that of 2 engineers individually.  Examples of this include heavy fixings, TV wall mounts and where ladders are required.
10. A consumables charge will be added to all invoices, to include fuel and travel costs. This may also be where items not charged individually elsewhere will be invoiced. This includes fixings such as, but not limited to, screws, nails & washers. Please note that both elements to this charge are variable due to your location and proximity to our offices and the scale of the work completed. Full details of this can be requested prior to any works being undertaken.


ESTIMATES:
1. Estimates are valid for 14 days from sent date.
2. Unless otherwise stated all works are estimated only, based on information given/seen at the time of booking.  
3. In the event that extra labour is required at the time of completion it will be billable at a reduced rate. Extra materials will also be invoiced.
4. Acceptance of the estimate assumes that you have agreed to these terms.
5. Home Systems Scotland will conduct site visits & estimates to the best of our ability based on visible aspects at the time, labour is charged at a hourly rate (minimum of 1hour) as follows; Single trades person - £38.50, Senior technician - £42.50 & Two person trades teams - £58.50, these prices are all +VAT and are subject to review at managerial discretion.

FIXED PRICE OFFERS:
1. All fixed price offers assume the terms of the offer have been met by you prior to booking.
2. A 25% deposit will be required as with all other jobs booked.  Deposit terms apply.
3. Where the work cannot be completed as does not meet the terms of the offer, the engineers time plus travel will be billable.
4. Where the work is cancelled by you deposit refund terms apply.

COMPOSURE:
Home Systems Scotland will not accept abusive, derogatory or defamatory language or actions of any kind towards their employees under any circumstances.  Failure by you to comply with this may result in work being cancelled as well as correspondence being terminated.  Home Systems Scotland may also seek legal advice where deemed necessary.
